Tips and Tricks for Preparing Your Ignite Talk

  1. Start with the script, then add pictures.
  2. It’s better to have a couple of seconds between slides than to have to rush to fit the information in.
  3. If there is something in the presentation that will make the audience laugh, give five or ten seconds for them to laugh.
  4. If there is something very important that requires more than the 15 seconds, you could repeat a slide, perhaps with a change (like added text) on the second slide. Please don’t repeat any slide more than once, or repeat more than one or two of the slides.

Reminder: No selling from the stage. Educate, entertain, enlighten the audience!
